By the way, what happens to the driver when they’re inside a Transformer when they transform from vehicle to robot? They don’t get crushed like in the “RiffTrax” intro, do they?

It’s happened twice as far as I know. Bulkhead transforming while Miko was hiding inside him in Prime, she was fine but she said something like “it was tight”. Also in DotM I think Bumblebee transforms while Sam’s still inside, but it looked so messy and absurd it’s hard to describe, but again he was fine

I think another “killed the driver while shifting” was also done in, of course, Robot Chicken.

What do you think about Skybound comics?

I personally don’t really like a couple of stuff going on. Feels a bit too grimdark a lot of the time.

I hear good things about it but it feels too dark and violent for my tastes

Not really grimdark it’s not violence for the sake of violence.
It uses that violence to contrast the lighter quieter moments.
