Where did it all go wrong?

I have a dark theory about the real inspirations of cutie marks. It’s those hot red glowing metal thinggy that was used to shove on horse’s butts to behave or punish. Then, that scar will leave a pattern similar to the shape of that hot metal bar.

You’re thinking of “branding”. The main goal of branding was (and still is) to protect against horse and cattle theft.
