Considering how random this thread has become, ill ask this here so it gets little or no attention.

Not sure how to start this really, but I could do with some guidance.

I’ve recently seen that Hot Topic has restarted selling MLP shirts and merch which I am really happy to see!
The only problem is that I can’t get any as I suffer with a chronic disease called ‘Being British’.

Is it at all possible to get stuff across the pond without paying 6x the price of the items on shipping alone?

At a MASSVIVE push, is it possible for someone to jump into one and send stuff over to me? I know that’s asking a hell of a lot and sounds stupid, but all I can do is ask (and, very obviously, I’d be willing to pay for everything!)

Please add functionality for saving tags to bookmarks, this will be useful for those people who plan to view a certain number of tags, but physically cannot do it at once and conveniently save pages so that they do not get lost or closed. Sometimes, the number of such tags can reach several hundred or even thousands, which is why the devices are heavily loaded.
I believe that this will be useful for many, and will allow us to solve, although not significant, but an acute problem.

Also chiming in from east coast US here to say, this site is being slow and another popular (adult) image site (rule34.xxx) is being extremely slow to load for me as well.

Just out of curiosity… does anyone else experiencing this issue have Xfinity as their ISP? I’m beginning to become suspicious. (I don’t have a VPN to test with)

There’s something wonky going on with tag saving. Basically 75% of the time saving tags results in an error that looks like this:

This error message replaces the tag editor, but leaves the rest of the page intact. You have to reload the page and try again. The second edit attempt seems to always succeed. This means you have to do almost all tag edits twice.

I’m 99% certain cookies are enabled in my browser (FF 125.0.3), otherwise I wouldn’t stay logged in.

This didn’t happen around 8-9 hours ago.

EDIT: Whatever caused this, it appears to have gone away. Let’s hope it stays away.

Reading all that… I guess I [almost] qualify for Best Artist badge too, because I have seven images with 100 or more upvotes, which I don’t posted elsewhere. But I don’t like the derpibooru exclusive tag, for me it feels like its saying “do not repost my art elsewhere!”, which I don’t agree. For me it’s sign of success if people repost something I create, plus it’s kinda fun to explore how my content is traveling on the internet by itself. Though that didn’t happen much with my pony drawings 😄

It’s fine if they’re elsewhere, it’s more that the “canonical source” for the image is derpi. ie. if someone elsewhere were to link to the source, it’d be derpi (be that because posted here some time before elsewhere or larger version/png or whatever).

it’s fine. it was just the vagueness of how to get the badge that threw me off. so the bottom line is Derpibooru Exclusives only apply to pictures that aren’t anywhere else & also aren’t cropped from already existing pictures. right?

We look at images case by case. Most of that stuff in Rule #1 is to protect human fan artists, not commercial properties which have their own set of “don’t do this” which, without a legal team, is something we handle when it happens.

If you’re going to recreate something by Michelangelo but with ponies, that’s the kind of thing we already have and it’s ok. It’s not a problem.

Beyond that it’s hard to speculate, other than to say that if they’re famous enough that they have a Wiki article, then they would fit the “highly commercial or culturally significant styles (e.g. from renown dead painters)” clause of Rule #1. But, at the same time, if they’re a recently passed Disney artist or the image recreates something from a famous Hasbro artist, wiki article or not if the image you’re recreating is still something that some company like LionsGate has a hardon for, that might be it’s own kind of problem.

So, without seeing what you’re doing it’s hard to speculate beyond “Sure, probably. Let’s see.”

I previously made some big mistakes uploading images here, so I may ask questions that have obvious answers. For a quick sanity check, for rule one would you say that an “renown dead painter” is of “renown” if they have a Wikipedia entry?

Ok, weirdly enough, the issue immediately goes away when I enable my VPN. Not sure if that info helps, and I don’t know enough about this sort of thing to really do much with it.

I was having that issue too

Took nearly 5 minutes for an image to upload on my end

Sometimes images take longer than usual to load. I’ve verified this on 3 devices with different connections. Is this a location issue on my part (Utah, USA) or something else?

Uhm … I think we need to know the context for what you’re asking. Because on it’s surface, that sounds like either an edit or an alternative version.

Just looking at your artwork which you uploaded and which does not have a source_url (artist:killerteddybear94, score.gte:100, uploader_id:385788, -source_url:http* it seems you do qualify.

But that result is different from artist:killerteddybear94, score.gte:100, derpibooru exclusive`, so maybe we should look closer?

Several of the images have a description:

So … it sounds like they are edits of some other image. For the Celestia images, they appear to be from this image which was originally posted on DeviantArt on June 9, 2018, and then posted here on or around June 19, 2018.

The Luna images appear to be cropped from this image, originally posted on DeviantArt on Nov 15, 2019, and then reposted here on or around Jan 1, 2020.

So, the images appear to not really be derpibooru exclusive.

But they really aren’t what derpibooru exclusive is for - images with that tags were meant to “posted directly to Derpibooru by its creator, and as such the original source of the image is Derpibooru itself”. I know the short description says exclusively posted to the booru - I’m not sure that’s the way the tag has been defined historically, and it’s not how I use it. But in any case, it doesn’t seem that you qualify for the badge. I’m sorry.

Maybe you qualify for some others?
