Poison Trail
Section 230 already provides the exception that a platform must reasonably moderate their website and not allow it to fester into a Twitter-style cesspool, what it otherwise does is prevent abuses of the system, such as one party hyper-focusing on one kind of content being pushed on a platform while collaborators flood it with relevant spam to provide examples.
Without it, things would simply devolve into which party has the bigger troll farm supporting them.

Hence why I said “update” and not “repeal.” More powerful/influential should be held to a higher standard than a site still finding it’s legs.

Without section 230 there is no user generated content on the internet. That includes posting in threads or writing reviews on products, never mind art or game mods or whatever else. It would mean all user content has to be pre-approved before it’s posted, because if it’s posted it means it’s the site that’s saying it.

Without getting into a lot of examples, the short of it is the internet can’t exist without it. It would just be a sterile collection of company websites, basically an interactive mall kiosk.

Yeah, E621’s tag system is quite sophisticated. I would advise to follow them and not to imply “male”/“female” for futa/intersex tags. That’s what they are: intersex.

I’m hedging on this cart to be totally honest. Sites are going to do everything under the sun, promote every viewpoint to make everything as shocking as possible to drive up retention? Something needed to be done yesterday.

Is this repeal the right course of action? Personally I think not, but at some point someone needs to convince these tech giants to actually make a genuine effort in policing their shit.

If there’s one little nitpick I have towards Freedom Planet 2’s story, it’s that we didn’t really get much insight into how Lilac felt about her entire race getting wiped out.
Like, yeah, we get two cutscenes dealing with this, alongside one or two brief mentions here and there. But once we see the cutscene of her lashing out at the Magister for his unintentional victim-blaming, we don’t get anymore insight as to how she feels about the genocide until AFTER we beat Merga.
It’s a nitpick, because it really doesn’t detract from the overall story, but I can’t help but feel like there was a missed opportunity here to really explore her perspective.
For starters, her anger towards the Magister really shouldn’t have vanished after that one cutscene. I’m not saying she should’ve been telling the dude to fuck off every other second, but maybe show her being more bitter and sardonic towards him (and Neera to an extent). When he tells her not to fall for Merga’s tricks after finding the first time capsule, have her start muttering something along the lines of “bold words coming from the earth dragon,” before stopping herself. Have her actually contemplate Merga’s offer of joining her and show her almost accept it before realizing that she’d been letting her anger and bitterness control her. This would make the scenes where the Magister apologizes to her for everything, and where she finally breaks down after defeating Merga hit even harder than they already did.
Oh, and maybe throw in a scene where she smacks Neera for accusing Carol of being a traitor while you’re at it. That’d be fun to see.

Honestly, I do think it needs an update, considering that sites like Kick has users gleefully broadcasting actual crimes and it nor its users are being punished for their actions.

I think Belarus or Bulgaria had some crazy inflation rate too in the 1940s that could rival Zimbabwes infamous event.

look up “inflation”.
Just make sure you’re looking it up outside of DeviantArt. You’ll come out with more questions than answers.

Probably depends on how long the exclusivity deal is for. We might still have to wait on those.

In short, it’d drive most independent websites off the net due to the costs of protecting themselves, and the big social media sites would self-censor to a degree not yet seen and become almost unusable.

So the guys who was the figurehead of the GameStop Jan 21 short squeeze has recently come back from internet hibernation and posted a tweet on Twitter and this has caused GameStop to spike
If people are smart, they would be shorting GameStop instead of buying more shares
Shorting GameStop is looking like a more and more tempting thing for me to do at this point…
