that’s good to know. I didn’t think to start with the plain editor. at least I know now that this bug is limited to when the fancy tag editor is used.

it doesn’t seem that any of the tags starting with a minus sign are widely used, or particularily useful.
I just tested the fancy editor with images that contain tags starting with other special characters, only a leading minus sign breaks the editor so there doesn’t seem to be any other worries on that front.

The 2nd tag contains the 1st’s name in the description (as a Twitter account name) and is bigger (has higher cardinality^ω^).

All images tagged with the 1st tag are also tagged with the 2nd.

The two images uploaded under the 1st tag by the user associated with the 2nd tag are from about 5 years ago.

Yeah, E621’s tag system is quite sophisticated. I would advise to follow them and not to imply “male”/“female” for futa/intersex tags. That’s what they are: intersex.

As far as I’ve seen, subway is used for the restaurant, while the trains are tagged “metro”.

Oh, that’s a nasty bug.

It’s possible to circumvent it by (temporarily) switching off the fancy tag editor. Then you can remove the offending tag and save them without losing other tags.

The minus sign is a special character. See the search instructions section entitled Escaping Special Characters for more information.

Creating tags that use a special character, especially a minus sign as the first character, is doing to cause a lot of problems for searching, filtering, etc.

What is the tag you’re trying to create?

Oh … you’re trying to get rid of some bogus tags, some that were created by vandals. Hmmm.

I will look at your list to see if I can simply burn them from the database.

I don’t know when this happened, but the presense of a tag beginning with a minus sign in an image breaks the tag editor, resulting in that tag and every tag listed after to not preload in the editor like they should, which could result in a mass-tag-removal simply by hitting Save tags immediately after opening the tag editor.

AFAIK there is no cutie mark alternate tag, though since “tramp stamp” is a term associated with tattos, I think have this tag imply “tattoo”, then have another tag fur when it’s a cutie mark

I noticed that the subway tag is used both for the restaurant chain and trains that run underground. There is already a subway train (and subway trains) tag, as well as a subway (restaurant) tag (albeit with no entries).

Which should we leave tagged as just subway and which should we add clarification for?

If dildo shitting is specifically dildo pushing outta the ass, then the former should imply both the latter and also anal insertion.

All I’ll say is, personally, this is probably the most typos-and-dyslexia-hazardous obligatory pun tag on the site. NM and MN are visually very similar, N and M are adjacent on the keyboard.
